What about God and Allah?
Any chance that these two will ever live in peaceful co-habitation?
Some really do believe so and their first fantasy is to dress them both in a relativism that says there is only one creator and sustainer of the universe. So then, God must play the Muslim- Allah role as revealed in the Quran, and Allah must act the part of God in the bible. All of this, just to satisfy the human quest for peace and harmony. So, what’s wrong with this? There is nothing wrong with peace and harmony. But there is plenty wrong with the idea that a devoted Muslim who believes that the Quran is the only truth, should or will deny this just so that we can all play sweetly together. Pacifists expect Christians to lay aside their adherence to scripture and their relationship with God so that they don’t have to be bothered with all the friction and faction that comes from such an impossible, forced oneness.
Truth be told, it is a fool-hearty thing to attempt a marriage of God and Allah, defined as one and the same.
This union is doomed before the thought enters the mind. That is unless such an attempt is lose rhetoric as promoted by the “Moderate” Muslim or self-made “Christian” who has no intention of using either of their books to define their faith and their God/Allah. Such individuals are consistently being paraded throughout the media as champions of their new benign belief systems. They are mere puppets who have designed and programmed yet a new god whose job it is to serve man and his desire for a godless existence. In this case, sure, their god and Allah are one and the same, because their emotions and fantasy have given birth to whatever satisfies their personal desires and the worlds demand for a non-offensive, neutral, passive god.
Realities we may face or choose to re-define:
Reality ONE Neither the Quran nor the Torah allow for Jesus Christ to be God. All the pretty sayings in the world and all the media hype available will never change the reality that the Jew (non-Christian) and Muslim, if they are true to their faith and books, will never accept Jesus Christ as the God of creation who claimed to be
“the way, the truth and the life.” The same Jesus who said, “No man comes unto the Father accept by me.” “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” “I and the Father are ONE.” Before Abraham was, I am”.
These, and many more sayings, are flagrant words, worthy of punishment by death as unpardonable sin to a faithful Muslim. The Qur’an, most Muslims, many Jews and professing Christians alike, teach that Jesus was a mere messenger or a simple prophet and that the Trinity (three Gods in one) is heresy. The bible we now have describing and quoting this Jesus is said to be “corrupted beyond repair”. If their reduction of Jesus is true, and he is a mere “good-ole-boy” to be tolerated, we must all rebel because such a man as Jesus could never be trusted. He is either the God he claims to be or he is a liar and an infidel.
Reality TWO Were the Jesus of the bible (not the fairy tale made up in our culture) alive today and attempting to live in a Muslim-dominant country where Sharia Law is rule, his life would be ended in quick fashion for heresy and flagrant abuse against Allah. Why? Because he claims to be God. Such a belief is why the Jews had Him killed in the first place.
Reality THREE In the United States, very few Christians, Jews and Muslims live out their respective faiths “By the Book.”
They are more nominal, moderate and liberal in their associations. Most do not read them, much less follow the teachings. Today, if the Christian doesn’t “feel” that a verse in the bible is true, then it must not be. If certain verses in the bible are deemed intolerant and offensive, then they must be eliminated. This type of professing Christian, in the interest of tolerance, peaceful religion and world-harmony, will gladly deny that Jesus is God. They couldn’t quote one verse from the bible of support for his deity anyhow.
Reality FOUR “A one world religion is great as long as it is mine”, says the fundamentalist. When the non-Muslin heretic denies Allah, Muhammed and or the Qur’an, the hope is that he, for his life’s sake, is such a person in a protected zone.
Reality FIVE It is impossible to be both a Christian and a Muslim at the same time (if we use either the bible or the Qur’an as definitive) To become a Muslim one must recite, “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammed is the messenger of God.”
Conversion to Islam is often coerced and forced. Renouncing Islam is deemed apostasy, punishable by death and certainty of hell.
Reality SIX Militant Christians are those who will die for Christ and another’s right to reject Him, not kill for him as though he is an angry, puny, helpless God. Militant Islam and Muslims are those who will kill for Allah because he is weak without them. They will strap bombs to children (not themselves) and promote this as being true to their faith. Such combative jihad against the unbelieving infidel is considered the normal sequel to practicing the five pillars. Not to mention, the only guarantee they have for heaven.
Reality SEVEN No amount of sanitization will eliminate dark moments of Jews, Christianity and Islam. In stark contrast to Muhammad’s Islam however, Christians worship a Jesus who never killed anyone, much less thousands as did Muhammed. He never sought to force and enforce others to believe in, and follow him. He was sinless. His only crime, then and now, is that He claims to be God. A faithful Muslim will always condemn the infidel. (that’s you and me) Their job is to convert everyone to submit to Allah.
Reality EIGHT If you are not a Muslim, don’t plan to go to heaven when you die. If you did not live properly (some wacky definitions of this word “properly” are available) as a Muslim, don’t plan to go to heaven when you die either. You will also go to a dark and furious place of fire, pus and boiling water. In Christianity, there is only one qualification for entrance to heaven upon death. That is, according to Jesus who said,
“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whoever believes may in Him have eternal life.”(John 3:14-15)
Christians are saved and kept by God’s power—Christs sacrifice, death, burial and resurrection. This fact of grace informs and empowers a new lifestyle that reflects the new person God has made of them. God’s love and relationship with the Christian assures that the believer and his future are secure. The Christian did not work to earn rights to heaven and he will not work to keep such a status. His assigned works are toward other purposes—the good pleasure of God and reflecting the likeness of Christ who lives within. (Philippians 1:6; 20b; 2:13) (Ephesians 2:8-9)
The Qur’an teaches that heaven is only for the Muslim, and only for the one who was more good than bad in his moral character and actions. Such a follower of Islam must work to remain in good standing with Allah, maintaining a greater balance of good deeds over bad. In the end, there is still no certainty about ones destination. Allah wants an apology for sin–(God requires a sacrifice) and his followers to try harder. “People of the Book” (Christians) All protestants and Catholics–have no hope of going to heaven after death, as infidels, unless they renounce such faith in Jesus and submit to Allah instead.
Quotes from the Christian God never to be heard from Allah
“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” (I John 4:15) “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my load is light.” (Matthew 11:27-30)
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.’” (John 15:6)
“Remind the new followers of Christ to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. For we also were once foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:5-7)
Quotes from Allah never to be heard from the Christian God.
“Then those whose balance of good deeds is heavy will attain salvation, but those whose balance is light will have lost their souls and abide in hell forever.” (Sura 23: 102-103) Nothing is said of which authority may deem one’s deeds as heavy or light or by what standard. Which human judges the balance? This is how any religion keeps its followers working hard, if not fanatically.
Make threats of abandonment, death and destruction for eternity, and you get either a loyal-to-a-fault disciple or one who must abandon so much of their faith that they no longer care if they belong. (in which case you threaten to kill them for apostasy)
“Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them, forsake them in beds apart, and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme.” (Surah 4:34)
Impasse for Muslims is Jesus as having died on a cross, buried and raised to life as the Savior of mankind—Son of God—Son of Man, God of creation—member of the Trinity Godhead. This is ought right and utter heresy. Jesus is not, nor shall He ever be a God, much less the same as Allah. Muslim teaching is that Jesus never died for sin and thus was never raised from the dead. This was very clever of Muhammed, for without the resurrection, there is no Christianity—no “people of the book”.
Impasse for Christians: Allah, Gabriel and Muhammad are said to have come revealing a “final word” that supersedes all others.
This includes the bible, deemed to be riddled with error and considered to be untrustworthy by most Muslims. Nothing Muhammad or his Quran have ever said will change the deity of Christ, His role and his redeeming sacrifice for mankind—or all who believe on His name and give up their lives for Him so that they may live. Allah (Muhammad’s alter-ego) could never be God because he denies the Godhead of Jesus Christ.
“Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.” (Acts 4:12)
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
____
To worship the same God, historically or otherwise, the Muslim and the Christian would have to set aside who their books say they are in faith and practice. If they thus re-define or abrogate their books, they must become someone else’s disciple and worship by another’s definition. Such a marriage is entirely possible to those who rewrite their books, but never by those who believe their book to be truth without error. Such “moderate” Muslims are being killed by the Muslims who purport to be faithful to all the Qur’anic teachings, just as they were written. Such “liberal” Christians have apostatized. They thumb their noses at God and His Word and govern from boards and committees. They readily deny the very bible that defines and instructs them.
As such, convenient relativism works, yes, (II Timothy 3:5-7) but God and Allah remain at odds nonetheless.
