Toxic Masculinity. “Hegemony” and How to Fix It.

Much of why and how we are socially instructed to interpret “toxic maleness” (I will add toxic femaleness) in modern society has been influenced by a man, Raewyn Conwell. Born, raised and educated in Australia, he has come to prominence as a transsexual-male to female. As a sociologist academic, he produced many studies concerning the subject that most concerned himself—Male and female social construct. “Hegemonic” became the watchword for him because he found ample evidence of this behavior in both sexes and in all societies.

 

His own personal decisions with biological maleness and femaleness, masculinity and feminism, represent a theory that of necessity omits any “Darwinic”, indigenous distinctives for evolving moral behaviors. (they don’t exist) As such, his studies, though often viable, offer no solution beyond academic altruism.

 

Toxic Personalities belonging to the two sexes have more than mere regional and social incongruities. They indeed represent the corrupt and self-centered animal-man. As such, they will never be “run out of town” or eliminated because of their impropriety and bigotry. Secular society will always coddle them and vilify them simultaneously. They become attractive and financial necessities of, to, and for one another. (see Hollywood)

Professor Conwell might certainly disagree with such a simplistic assessment of this obviously convoluted subject as it is discussed today. He notes toxic behavior in the male sex as being “Hegemonic”.

Hegemonic means, “A preponderance of authority over others.”

What makes anything “TOXIC”? (Toxicosis, Malicious and Harmful, Poisoned, Corrupted) Well, anything escalating to the level of hegemonic.

 As such, hegemonic behavior has always been with us in many, if not most forms — expressions of life and living.

Nature herself provides the most prolific window exposing this “preponderance of authority over others”. And wouldn’t you know it, males of nearly all species are the obvious culprits and offenders with the ladies coming in a solid last place.

 

On to humans then. Nothing has changed. But is this true?

In reality, quite a lot has changed. Men, in the interest of tolerating hegemony, are being unmercifully emasculated. Women are artificially being promoted as savior/queen and assigned the new role of, “hey, back off offensive-dominating males, we’ve got this.”

 

WE ARE ALLOWING THE DELUSION THAT WOMEN ARE IMMUNE FROM BEING HEGEMONIC AS WELL AS MEN

Angry and aloof from reality, many Conwell-like educators (no shortage) hope to infiltrate text-books and schools teaching boys and girls that their uniqueness and beauty of being male/female must somehow be reversed as if science must close its eyes long enough for gender to be dissolved into a fanatical, maniacal fantasy of “gender-fluidity.” This is in part their destructive, effusive, even parodistic lie of contradictions they hope to institute as reality and THE NEW NORMATIVE.

 

WHO THEN IS INFECTED WITH THIS TOXIC LIFESTYLE OF HEGEMONY?

–Both male and female politicians within government love hegemony.

Remember, Hegemonic means, “A preponderance of authority over others.” They become inebriated instinctively in the Washington DC atmosphere.

–Religious leaders have become charlatans of exquisite skills while using the art of hegemony.

Nearly any religious TV show (Copeland, Hinn, Meyer, White, Osteen, Murdock, and too many more) purport that we may remain human while regurgitating their Jesus Lotto—Seed-faith mumbo-jumbo – Health and wellness distortion to the magical delights of millions who are but legal pawns to Hegemonic warfare by those who have perfected it. They are sick people, blinded by greed and hegemonic stupor.

 

–Islam is a dominant force of hegemony. It relies on domination, control by threat, isolation, and warfare when “necessary”. It’s leader, Muhammad, was hegemonic and toxic to the core. His alter-ego created “Allah” who accurately reflected his domineering character and devotion with thoughtless murder and sexual dysfunction, complete with ownership and subjugation of females. IMPERIUM (Latin)-Hegemony at its finest!

NOTE: Free-Speech societies where Muslims (Non-moderate/liberal who are fastidiously devoted to their book-the Quran) reside are struggling and failing to reconcile Islam with anything but being intrinsically hegemonic. Islam is a series of dogmatic, fundamentalist constructs (if the Quran is to be used and followed without abrogation at will) that refuse to assimilate with other-than-Islamic cultures because being hegemonic (Islamic) is an antithesis to personal freedom and democratic free speech as well as the worship of anything but Muhammad’s Allah. (observe this cacophony in any European State where democracy is/was held as rule of law) It is the theological duty in Islam/Quran, and the purpose of faithful Muslims, to substitute their Sharia for any existing governance and they are doing it. (often with the gleeful assistance of the free state governance out of fear and not wanting to be labeled “Islamophobic”)

 

The stated purpose of Islam is to Hegemonize the whole world and to either convert or to be rid of the infidel. (that’s you and me) Toleration, diminishment, taxing and or the destruction of the infidel (that’s you and me) are “all on the table” according to Islamic teaching.

–Entertainment personalities and television stars live under the rule of hegemony. Just watch the Oscars each year to see the parade complete with toxic personalities, all bitten by the bug and all infected—some to the point of becoming septic.

 

Men and women. We all become toxic and hegemonic when we are bitten by the Big Daddy Imperium Bug.

We are all susceptible and infected as we speak. Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Confucius, Shinto Atheist and Agnostic alike.

 

WHAT THEN CAN BE DONE FOR MEN AND WOMEN WHO DESIRE NOT TO BE RULED BY SUCH A HARMFUL BEAST?

Go back much further than Mr. (Ms.) Conwell in order to understand the real source of the desire for men and women to conquer and divide each other. We want to IMPERIUM the world—making it become our subject. We suppose to eradicate this monster through education, illumination, social laws and constructs, forced-indoctrination, and when necessary, deny science and the laws that govern our real world. (i.e.. Transgenderism) Create an alternate world and fantasy of delusion. I must say, if this was and is Mr. Cornwell’s intention, he has certainly discovered many willing disciples.

 

GO BACK AT LEAST THIS FAR

CONSIDER what Jesus Christ did this when He encountered Satan in the wilderness.

Satan became the representative- supreme when he fell for the lures of Hegemony. Satan’s fall was one of pride. His desire was certainly for domination and ultimate power such as Jesus Christ, the Father and the Spirit possessed. Then, in arrogant ignorance, he pretends to offer an IMPERIUM he does not possess to one who personified IMPERIUM.

First with Adam and Eve, and now with Jesus Himself, he is known as a “liar and a thief”—a “roaring lion, roaming and seeking whom he may devour.” “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (I Peter 5:8)

 

Jesus was not to fall. He reveals the truth about how He stifled and crucified Hegemony with its instigator.

Jesus and the Devil

4 When Jesus returned from the Jordan River, the power of the Holy Spirit was with him, and the Spirit led him into the desert. ² For forty days Jesus was tested by the devil, and during that time he went without eating. When it was all over, he was hungry.

³ The devil said to Jesus, “If you are God’s Son, tell this stone to turn into bread.”

⁴ Jesus answered, “The Scriptures say, ‘No one can live only on food.’”

⁵ Then the devil led Jesus up to a high place and quickly showed him all the nations on earth. ⁶ The devil said, “I will give all this power and glory to you. It has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. ⁷ Just worship me, and you can have it all.”

⁸ Jesus answered, “The Scriptures say:

‘Worship the Lord your God
    and serve only him!’”

⁹ Finally, the devil took Jesus to Jerusalem and had him stand on top of the temple. The devil said, “If you are God’s Son, jump off. ^10-11 The Scriptures say:

‘God will tell his angels to take care of you.
They will catch you in their arms, and you will not hurt your feet on the stones.’”

¹² Jesus answered, “The Scriptures also say, ‘Don’t try to test the Lord your God!’”

¹³ After the devil had finished testing Jesus in every way possible, he left him for a while.

(Luke 4:1-13)

 

It goes to His character, and as a result of His character (attitude) we inherit the same character/beliefs/actions/love as we love and follow Him.  Philippians 2:1-11

2 Christ encourages you, and his love comforts you. God’s Spirit unites you, and you are concerned for others. ² Now make me completely happy! Live in harmony by showing love for each other. Be united in what you think, as if you were only one person. ³ Don’t be jealous or proud but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves. ⁴ Care about them as much as you care about yourselves ⁵ and think the same way that Christ Jesus thought:

⁶ Christ was truly God. But he did not try to remain equal with God.

⁷ Instead he gave up everything and became a slave, when he became like one of us.

⁸ Christ was humble. He obeyed God and even died on a cross.

⁹ Then God gave Christ the highest place and honored his name above all others.

¹⁰ So at the name of Jesus everyone will bow down, those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

¹¹ And to the glory of God the Father everyone will openly agree, “Jesus Christ is Lord!”

 

 Adam takes us back to a fall (His and Eves encounter with Satan) where we learn that, as a result of their fall:

–MANKIND IS NOT GENERALLY GOOD, BUT OCCASIONALLY DOES BAD THINGS

–MANKIND IS BAD (Hegemony-prone-infected) UNTIL HE IS CONVERTED—REDEEMED-BORN AGAIN TO A SEED THAT IS INCORRUPTIBLE.

“Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.” (I Peter 1:22-23)

 

Paul reminds us with ultimate clarity that no man possessed by Christ who resides within him will sponsor the toxicity of hegemony seen in symptoms like Misogynism, Ethnic Prejudice, Human Slavery and the like.

 

And YES-YOU ARE CORRECT. History is replete with professing “Christians” doing these things and revealing contrary beliefs and behaviors to the bible’s teachings.

This means that:

1-Not all who profess to be Christian are.

2-Not all who indeed are will be thus mature. (they are still on the milk bottle)

All Christians are “stubborn sheep” and “children”—works in progress. This is never stated as an excuse for bad-living, rather the truth about spiritual growth and a lifetime of transformation into the likeness of Christ.

Bottom line:

There is no excuse for a professing believer to remain Hegemonic—toxically or otherwise! To do so is to deny the existence of any conversion and presence of Christ within.

“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? (Romans 6:1-2)

 

How to recognize Toxic, Hegemonic People (men and women–boys and girls)

1-They will offer what they cannot possess.

2-The will threat what they cannot back-up.

3-They will prize what is poisonous.

4-There will always be (just like a virus) many layers of severity and outbreak.

4-They will continue unless they become convicted, repent and be converted by the God of Love, Jesus Christ. (John 3)

 

How to be free from Toxic, Hegemony (men and women–boys and girls)

Firstly, don’t believe that politics, laws and social indoctrinations will provide any significant relief. As one leper attempting to cure another lepr, they are limited by their own viruses and they merely band-aid according to where the money flows.

 

Observe this solution as seen (though not always lived-out) in Christianity:

Wives and Husbands

“Honor Christ and put others first. A wife should put her husband first, as she does the Lord. A husband is the head of his wife, as Christ is the head and the Savior of the church, which is his own body. Wives should always put their husbands first, as the church puts Christ first.

A husband should love his wife as much as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. He made the church holy by the power of his word, and he made it pure by washing it with water. Christ did this, so that he would have a glorious and holy church, without faults or spots or wrinkles or any other flaws.

In the same way, a husband should love his wife as much as he loves himself. A husband who loves his wife shows that he loves himself. None of us hate our own bodies. We provide for them and take good care of them, just as Christ does for the church, because we are each part of his body. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother to get married, and he becomes like one person with his wife.” This is a great mystery, but I understand it to mean Christ and his church. So, each husband should love his wife as much as he loves himself, and each wife should respect her husband.” (Ephesians 5:21-33)

 SUCH LIVES KNOW NOTHING OF OBJECTIFICATION, MISOGYNY, AUTHORITARIANISM, ELITIST-PATRIARCHY, AND LOVER THAT USES OTHERS.

This majestic scripture is also a powerful contradiction to the popularity of gender fluidity, homosexuality and transgenderism within the walls of Christianity being accepted as normative for anyone professing to know Jesus Christ and to follow Him in truth and spirit.

It places true love as being respectfully common for disciples of Jesus Christ.

It places gender as being male-female, roles as uniquely male-female without any superiority noted for and from either, marriage being distinctly husband and wife, and no possible collusion ever implied, much less practiced.

With the likening of such male-female creative beauty seen in Christ and His love for His bride, the church, then toxic masculinity and feminism are shut out completely from the society as far as devoted Christians are concerned.

Secular society then, to the extent that they eschew this maladaptive curmudgeon called Hegemony, might consider the beauty of God’s special design as revealed in His Son and Savior. He offers freedom from these sins and His loving presence to accomplish a new standard for living. Each Christian has this working power within.

Christians work BECAUSE they are saved, NOT TO BECOME saved. They are not Moral for Morality’s sake—Not ego-driven, rather they are Moral for they can do no other while abiding in the Christ whose Spirit teaches them from within.

 

RELIGION (covers all of them) teaches that how good-or bad a person is will determine their relationship with their god as well as their future potential for a positive after-life.

Christianity, however, reveals a compassionate, loving God who provides only one way to Himself. (many paths-one destination) Jesus said it this way:

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” (John 14:1-7)

 

FINALLY, CHRIST IS GOD’S UNDERERVABLE GIFT TO THOSE WHO WILL RECEIVE HIM (many will not)

 “Well then, what can we say about our ancestor Abraham? If he became acceptable to God because of what he did, then he would have something to brag about. But he would never be able to brag about it to God. The Scriptures say, “God accepted Abraham because Abraham had faith in him.” Money paid to workers isn’t a gift. It is something they earn by working. But you cannot make God accept you because of something you do. God accepts sinners only because they have faith in him.” (Romans 4:1-5)

 “ My dear friends, you always obeyed when I was with you. Now that I am away, you should obey even more. So work with fear and trembling to discover what it really means to be saved. God is working in you to make you willing and able to obey him.” (Philippians 2:13)
