WOKE, BEING INTERPRETED

“Woke’s transformation into a byword of social awareness likely started in 2008, with the release of Erykah Badu’s song “Master Teacher”: The word woke became entwined with the Black Lives Matter movement; instead of just being a word that signaled awareness of injustice or racial tension, it became a word of action. Activists were woke and called on others to stay woke.” –Webster

CHRISTIANS WOKENESS TO INCLUDE:

1- Jesus spent much of His ministry doing Woke things. His followers have a constant awareness of injustice and a willingness to confront it at some level with action. Most police and public servants operate from this inner motivation.
2- Christians are identified with Christ, not a skin color, club, sex, or wealth status. As such we need No One’s Organization for wokeness, purpose or identity as a human being.
3- Christians are Woke to the notion that no law will ever make people stop sinning, being prejudiced, hating, bullying or using others. The sinful human heart must be transformed. This new life and association with Jesus Christ is the impetus for all things Woke.
